Sweeping up the Foreclosure Mess

It was immediately apparent what this work of art was all about- cleaning up the foreclosure mess. This work is currently on view at R2ART in Uptown at 3699 McKinney. The artist is John Frost and the title is Wake.  A new exhibit open Thursday, September 8.

Is Fugi a Place in Washington State?

Not to be confused with Fuji apples, these delicious Fugi apples are found only at Albertson's on McKinney Avenue. Or maybe they are confused with Fuji apples. 

French Toast, Dallas Style

Until recently I thought of French toast as something powdery and on the light side. In Dallas it seems to be somewhat consistently served like a brick. With syrup it takes on the consistency of Crisco. I thought this was local to one restaurant, but my experience has been repeated much to my dismay. What's with this thick bread?

Flyover Country

Here is a video showing the park being built over a highway that divides the Arts District in Dallas from uptown. Looks great, but notice all the parking lots durning the flyover at the beginning. Lots more work to do!
